# How Fairloco works

Fairloco is a food ordering marketplace. You buy the food directly from the restaurant and the delivery directly from an independent courier, who sets their own price. Fairloco runs the marketplace and charges a fixed 0,50 € service fee per order. Fairloco never sells the food or the delivery itself.

## How ordering works

Browsing needs no account and no address. You fill your basket at one restaurant, choose a courier from the ones online now or pick up the order yourself, and pay.

### 1. Choose a restaurant

Browse full menus with prices and allergens, and add what you like.

### 2. Choose your courier

See the couriers available right now and their own prices. Pick by price or distance, or pick up the order yourself.

### 3. Get your food

The restaurant prepares your order, and your courier brings it to your door.

## What you pay and who gets it

Your order has three payment lines, each with its own seller. The food goes to the restaurant, the delivery goes in full to your courier, and a fixed 0,50 € service fee goes to Fairloco. An optional tip goes to your courier. You see every line and the exact total before you pay.

| Line | Who gets it | Amount |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Food | The restaurant, which sells the food | Menu prices |
| Delivery | Your courier, 100 %. Pickup orders have no delivery line. | Courier's own price |
| Service fee | Fairloco, on every order | 0,50 € |
| Tip, optional | Your courier. Only the actual card fee of the tip is deducted. | You choose |

Restaurants pay Fairloco a fixed commission of 1,50 € per delivery order and 0,50 € per pickup order. It is not added to your price.

## You choose your courier

Couriers online now are listed with their own price, distance, arrival time and vehicle. There are no ratings, no badges and no paid placement, and no courier is preselected. You can view the list three ways.

### Cheapest

Sorted by the courier's own price, lowest first.

### Closest

Sorted by distance, closest first.

### All

Every courier online, in random order, so nobody is always on top.

The vehicle is information only. It is not a filter and does not change the order.

## When you are charged

When you pay, the amount is held, not charged. It is charged only when the restaurant accepts your order.

### Held when you order

The total you saw at checkout is reserved on your card or wallet.

### Charged when the restaurant accepts

You are never charged more than the total you approved.

### Released if the restaurant does not accept

You are not charged, and the reservation is released.

## Questions

### Who sells the food?

The restaurant. The menu prices are the restaurant's own prices, and your receipt names the restaurant's company and business ID as the seller of the food.

### Who delivers the order?

An independent courier who works as an entrepreneur on the Fairloco marketplace. Each courier sets their own delivery price, and 100 % of it goes to the courier.

### Who chooses the courier?

You do. In the cart you see the couriers available right now with their own price, distance and estimated arrival. You can view them by price, by distance or all in random order. Nothing is chosen for you.

### What does Fairloco charge?

A fixed 0,50 € service fee on every order. Restaurants pay a fixed commission of 1,50 € per delivery order and 0,50 € per pickup order. There are no percentage fees, small order fees or busy fees.

### When am I charged?

The amount is reserved when you pay and charged when the restaurant accepts your order. Until then you can cancel for free. If the restaurant does not accept, the reservation is released and you are not charged.

### Can I pick up my order myself?

Yes, if the restaurant offers pickup. Pickup orders have no delivery fee: you pay the restaurant's prices and the service fee.
